Event Description:

What happens when a photograph is made? How is a sequence not a series? In an image saturated world, we think that a photograph is a representation of reality, but it is a record disconnected – light on film or a sensor. The impetus for Moog's work is pre-visualizing the difference between the image and what is in front of the camera. As a student of Minor White, a giant in the history of photography, Moog participates in a photographic tradition. That tradition in this case is a sequence, a combination of individual objects their own meaning assembled for us to try to bring us to a poetic point.   This exhibition will include works from the sequences, Equivalents Sequence #IV, Journey to an Original Dwelling Place, and selections from a recent donation to the Burchfield Penney Collection.
